OptiMiZero exists because optimizing an image should take zero effort, and zero trust.
Most image compressors ask you to upload your files to a server you know nothing about. We built the opposite: the compression engine is delivered to your browser and does the work on your own device. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is stored, and there is nothing to sign up for.
What we believe
- Your files are yours. A tool should not need a copy of your images to shrink them.
- Defaults should be good. Smart mode picks sensible settings so you do not have to learn what a quantization table is.
- Tell the truth. If we cannot make a file smaller, we say so and give it back.
- Keep it fast and light. The page is quick to load and the codecs download only when you need them.
Under the hood
OptiMiZero stands on excellent open-source work, compiled to WebAssembly so it runs at near-native speed in the browser: MozJPEG for JPG, libwebp for WebP, libavif for AVIF, OxiPNG and UPNG for PNG, Gifsicle for GIF, SVGO for SVG and fflate for ZIP files. Our thanks to everyone who maintains them.
How we pay for it
The site is free and supported by advertising. Ads are kept away from the download buttons and are only loaded if you allow it. Read the privacy policy for details.
